करोनाची करामत सामान्यांची हजामत
परवा रात्रीची गोष्ट, करोना बंदमुळे सगळीकडे एकदम शांत, शांत नव्हे सन्नाटाच की, सगळे आपआपल्या खोपटात, सॉरी म्हणजे फ्लाटात ,घरात म्हणा हवं तर. हं तर काय म्हणत होतो एकदम सन्नाटा रस्त्यावर,रेल्वे स्टेशनवर आणि बेस्ट स्टाॅपवरसुध्दा. घरात बसून कंटाळा आला की एकमेकांसोबत मेसेज मेसेज गेम खेळायचा, कशावरही आपल मत मांडायचे, कचाकचा भांडायचे. सगळ्यामागे एकच उद्देश जस्ट टू किल टाईम यार, आपल्या बापाच काय जातंय ? नाही तरी अंबानी भाऊ म्हणालाच नेटचे रेट एकदम कमी केलेत की लेको , स्वस्तात चाटा, चाटा म्हणजे काय तर चॅट करा. तो म्हणतोय म्हटल्यावर मागेपुढे करण्यात काय अर्थ?
घरात बसायच तरी किती? मुलांबरोबर कॅरम खेळुन झाला, आई असं मार, बाबा पहली क्विन काय काढता? आणि केवढ्या जोरान स्ट्रायकर मारता कॅरम बोर्ड खराब होईल की! किती सूचना कराव्यात आणि आई ,बाबांनी “हो रे,चुकलं बघ” म्हणत माघार घ्यावी. पत्त्यांचही तसंच, मेंढीकोट खेळताना डोळ्यांचे इशारे किती, दात चावणं काय, केसांवरून हात फिरवण किती आणि काय काय इशारे, बरं मेल हे लक्षात तर यायला हवं ना ? पण नाही”
“काय ग आई समोरून काय पत्ता पडला तो तर बघ, सरळ एक्का काय टाकतेस आणि मघाशी माझा एक्का होता तर मेंढी टाकायची सोडुन गुलाम काय टाकलास? बघ खेळताना लक्ष असतं का? आम्हाला कशी सांगायचीस, लक्षच नसतं अभ्यासावर म्हणुन?” सगळी व्याजासह परतफेड, आई काय म्हणणार ! ह्या संसाराच्या रगाड्यात पत्ते कोणाला माहीती? चकल्यांना मोहन बरोबर झालंय ना आणि मीठ मसाला योग्य पडलाय ना चकली खमंग झाल्यायत ना? हे आई इतकं अचुक कोण कळेल! पुरणपोळ्या केल्या की कशा चटामटा खाता, विचारता तरी का आई तुला उरल्याय ना? आईला काय मुलांनी पोटभर खाल्ले की आईची पोट भरलं तेव्हा आई विचारते का पोळी कशी करायची म्हणुन. ठिक आहे मोठं झाल्यावर तुम्ही कराल असं म्हणायचं नी द्यायचं सोडुन वाद कशाला भरल्या घरी?
“बाळांनो हे माझं क्षेत्र नाही ,आता बाहेर नाहीच पडायचं म्हणुन आपलं बसल्याय तुमच्या बरोबर; चुका होणारच ना” हे तिला म्हणायचं असतं पण ती बिचारी काहीच बोलत नाही. मुल मोठी झाली आहेत, असंच तर व्हायचं कभी नाव पानी पर कभी पानी नाव पर. त्यांची काय चुक शेवटी पेरल तेच उगवणार. समजुत करून घ्यायची आणी गप्प बसायचं.
त्यांच्या लहानपणी त्यांना केलेल्या सूचनांची परतफेड करायला मुलही ऊत्सुक, त्यांनी तरी अशी ही करोनान दिलेली संधी का दौडावी? इतर वेळेस खरेदी करण्या वरून, तर कधी जास्तीच्या खर्चावरून, कधी उशिरा येण्यावरून बाबा तरी बोलणं कुठं सोडतात! संधी मिळालीच आहे तर घ्या धुऊन, शिवाय काही खरेदी करण्यासाठी आई बाहेर जायचं म्हणाली की चिरंजीव शब्दांचा बाण घेऊनच तयार, “पहा हल्लीच्या आई, बाबांना पेशंस आहे का ? ए-हवी आम्हाला सतत टोचता , सारखं सारखं बाहेर कशाला रे जाता आणि आता ?”
सांगा तुम्ही काय उत्तर दिलं असतं? मग कधी कधी ती रागाने बोलते, “तुम्हाला गिळायला हवं त्याची सोय नको करायला?” त्यांचं त्यावर उत्तर तयार, “काही बाहेर जायची गरज नाही काय हवंय ते सांगा, आत्ता डी-मार्ट मधुन मागवतो, भाजी हवी तर ती ही सांगा बिग बास्केट पाठवेल, हे सांगताना आईबापाची काळजी असते की नाही ते त्यांनाच ठाऊक, पण बापावर मात केल्याचा आनंद नक्कीच असतो.”, करोना खरच रे बाबा तूझी धन्य आहे तू किती आणि काय काय दाखवणार आहेस आणि शिकवणार आहेस तुलाच माहीती.”
दोन दिवसांपुर्वी गंमतच झाली घरात बसुन जुने पिक्चर,जुनी नाटक, रामायण, महाभारत अस पाहुन पाहुन अगदी कंटाळा आला होता म्हणुन म्हटल चला आज गच्चीवर जाऊया. गेलो गच्चीत, पहातो तो काय आजू बाजूला इमारतीत नजर टाकली तर प्रत्येक इमारतीच्या टेरेसवर ही मंडळी, सगळे चेह-यावर रूमाल बांधुन फिरत होते. मला आश्र्चर्य वाटलं आपण गच्चीवर जाणार हे जगजाहीर झाले की काय? कधी कधी तसं होत , आपण एखादी गोष्ट अगदी हळू आवाजात घरी सौ ला सांगावी आणि तीला म्हणावं कुठ सांगू नको बरं उगाच बभ्रा व्हायला नको आणि चार दिवसांनी सोसायटीच्या मिटींग नंतर लक्षात येते अरेच्च्या ही गोष्ट कानोकानी झाली तर. तसा तर हा प्रकार नाही ना ! गंमतच मोठी, कोणी एका बिल्डींग मधील वहिनी दुस-या इमारातीमधील वहिंनीशी रूमाल बांधुन काही तरी सांगण्याचा प्रयत्न करत होत्या पण त्यांना ते नीट कळत नव्हत त्या खुणेन हातानेच कळलं नाही सांगत होत्या शेवटी वैतागून त्यांनी रुमाल सोडला आणि ओरडुन विचारलं ऐकु येतंय ना, सध्या मंदिरात जायचं बंद आहे , तुमचा वेळ कसा जातो?” त्याच्यवर त्यांनी ही तितक्याच मोठ्या आवाजात ऊत्तर दिल.त्यांचं संभाषण चार-सहा इमारतीच्या गच्चीवर ऐकू आलं हे सोशल डिस्टंन्सींग परवडलं, पण ह्या संवादाचं काय?
नक्की काय काय महाभारत ह्या करोनाच्या भुतान चालवल आहे ते ऐकुनी नवल वाटावं, आमचे नगरसेवक सफाई करून कचरा टाकणा-या बाईला म्हणाले “सध्या तू येऊ नको”, तीनेही ते फारच मनावर घेतलं आणि दुस-या दिवसा पासून घरचा कचरा मनपाच्या गाडीत टाकायचं काम पुरूष मंडळींवर येऊन पडल. त्यामुळे माझ्यासह सारे रिकामटेकडे पुरुष कच-याचा डबा घेऊन कामाला वेळेवर निघाव तश्या तयारीत रुमाल बांधून सोसायटी बाहेर पडू लागले. प्रत्येक जण नजरेनेच बरं आहे ना, अशी कधी नव्हे ती एकमेकांची विचारपूस करू लागले, कोणाचा काय भरोसा ? हा करोना यायचा आणि हातघाईवर येऊन चल म्हणायचा ,मग काय घेणार? तर म्हणुनच जाणीवपुर्वक एकमेकांची चौकशी चालू होती. कचरा गाडी येईपर्यंत नाही तरी काय करणार? दोन ,तीन दिवस झाले नीयमान अस्मादीकांच कचरा टाकण सूरू होत आणि एक दिवस मुल म्हणालीच ” हे कचरा टाकायच फार मनावर घेतलंय तुम्ही, कचरा टाकण हे नुसतं निमित्त बरं, बाहेर फिरायला मिळतय म्हणुन सगळं चाललंय.” झालं, ते ही खरंच की मग करावं काय ? कामात बदल झाला माझी ड्युटी मुलान घेतली. शेवटी भाकरी परतली नाही तर करपते ना! का करपू द्यावी.
करोनाच्या भितीनं खरेदीचही तसंच झालं. सरकारन लाॅकडाऊन जाहिर केलं आणि लगेचच वाण्याच्या दुकानासमोर ही लाईन लागली. एका एका घरची चार चार माणस, किती खरेदी करू आणि किती नको, अहो न आदेशच सोडला, सोबत यादी दिली म्हणाली “पूढचे पंधरा दिवस उपाशी रहायचं नसेल तर ही यादी घेऊन या” मी यादी पाहिली आणि मला भोवळ आली. मुलगा म्हणाला “बाबा काय करताय ? बरे आहात ना? चला मी येतो तुमच्या सोबत, सामना उचलायला कुणी हवंच ना!” दोघ चांगल्या चार पिशव्या घेऊन गेलो. अंतर अंतरावर वर्तुळं आखली होती, आमच्या पूढे पंधरा वीस जण होते एक दिड तासांनी नंबर आला. मी वाण्याला वस्तूंची नाव वाचून दाखवत होतो आणि तो ये खतम, वो खतम, ये दो किलो मिलेगा, वो आधा किलो मिलेगा असं म्हणत म्हणत सरते शेवटी निम्म्याच वस्तू मिळाल्या.घरी आलो तो आमचं कुंकू पिशव्या पाहुन म्हणाल “काय हो ,काय झालं ? नाही ना मिळालं सामान, पूढे पंधरा दिवस काय घालू , तरी सांगत होते वेळेवर जा , पण तुम्ही तसेच कसे जाल? नसती फणी मारली केसांवर तर काय हेमामालीनी रागावणार होती का ? पण ——–“
मी रागावलो ” हे पहा तोंड आहे म्हणुन काही बडबडू नको सोबत चिरंजीव होते त्यांना विचार मग कळेल” चिरंजीव काही सांगणार तो पर्यंत तीची फ़ायरिंग सुरू “शेजारच्या फडक्यांनी बरं आणलं सामान, चांगल्या चार पिशव्या आणल्या नाही तर तुम्ही”. “उद्या सकाळी दुसरीकडे रांग लावुन आणुन देतो मग तर झाल .” दुस-या दिवशी सकाळीच मुलाला सोबत घेऊन घरापासुन दुर असणा-या दुकानातून तीने सांगितलं त्याच्या दुप्पट सामान आणलं तेव्हा कुठे तीच समाधान झालं. आता त्या करोनाला एकच विनंती, “करोना झालं तेवढं पूरे रे बाबा आता तुझं तोंड काळं कर नाहीतर लाटणं बसेल बरं.”
काय ऊच्छाद मांडलाय या करोनान! अगदी कंटाळा आलाय. तसं तर घरी राहून सगळ्या अर्थाचा अनर्थच झालाय म्हणजे कमाईच बंद की. साला एकवीस दिवस घरी बसून आपल्याला पगार कोण देणार ? आय.टी.वाल्यांच बरं आहे, त्यांना साहेब म्हणाले वर्क फ्राॅम होम , आता साहेबाला काय माहिती यांना वर्क फ्राॅम होम किती महागात पडणार ते? सकाळी उठल्या उठल्या ती म्हणाली “दिन्या ,जरा सिंक मधली चार भांडी घासून टाक तो पर्यंत मी फ्रेश होते, मला मिटींग आहे जोडल्या वेळाने.” दिन्याच वर्क फ्राॅम होम सुरु झालं की,त्याने सिंक मधली भांडी घासून टाकली कारण दोन दिवसांपूर्वी भांडीवाली बाई म्हणाली ” बाई, मी यायचं ना कामाला? न्हाई तुम्ही दोघ बी घरी म्हणून विचारलं” तर ती म्हणाली “हो ! नको येऊस कामाला, साहेब आहेत की घरीच” कामवाली बाई ओढणी तोंडावर घेत हसली. तर असं हे वर्क फ्राॅम होम सगळ्याच घरी सुरू.
बरं बाईनी तरी किती सहन करावं, का करावी पुरुष मंडळींची अरेरावी? यांचं आपलं सुरूच “अग थोडी काॅफी करून आण, मिटींग करून डोकं ठणकतय अगदी, च्यायला, दर दहा मिनीटांनी बाॅसला हुक्की येते, मी एकटाच घरी बसलोय का ? पण त्याला आठवतोय फक्त मी. त्याला पुढच प्लँनींग करायचंय, ते ही आत्ताच, भिकार**साला “. ती काॅफी आणून पुढ्यात ठेवते आणि सांगते “राजेश, मला पण मिटींग आहे हो दहाला, ओंकार रडला तर त्याला दूध दे बरं, मला डिस्टर्ब करू नको” त्याच उत्तर ऐकायला न थांबताच ती निघूनही जाते. तीने तरी काय करावं?
आय. टी. सेक्टरला कामाला असणा-या जोडप्यांच्या घरी थोडे बहूत सेम डायलाॅग.वर्क फ्राॅम होम म्हणजे काय ते त्यांना विचारा लॅपटाॅप समोर घेऊन आणि हेडफोन कानाला लावून यांचं आपलं स्वगत बोलल्या प्रमाणे संभाषण सुरू. मधेच थोडा वेळ पाॅज आणि पुन्हा समोरच्या स्क्रिनवर पहात कनव्हिंन्स करणं आणि वाद घालण सुरू.ज्यांच्या घरी आई बाप आहेत
त्या आई बापाची फारच पंचायत काही विचाराव तर मुलांची मीटींगच चालू.
अस हे गंभीर वातावरण केवळ घरातच असंही नव्हे,रस्त्यावरून जातांना चेह-यावर रुमाल किंवा मास्क बांधल्यांनी अगदी परिचितालाही ओळखणे अवघड आणि त्यातूनही हाक मारली आणि व्यक्ती ओळखीची नसली तर काय घ्याल! तो गंभीर चेहरा करून पाहतोय की आपली कीव येऊन पाहतोय हेही आस्मादिकांना कळण्यास काहीच वाव नाही.
बस स्टाॅपवर फक्त ओळखपत्र लटकवलेलीच माणसे. कर्तव्य बजावण्यासाठी जाणारी ,त्यांचेही चेहरे झाकलेले त्यामुळे चेह-यारचे भाव त्यागाचे की दु:खाचे ते कळायला मार्ग नाही.खर तर हे ही फ़िलिंग ,आपण व्ही .आय. पी. आहोत म्हणूनच स्पेशल बस. इतर कर्मदळीद्री लोकांना बसमध्ये प्रवेश नाही.
वास्तव खरं तर वेगळंच, बसखाली असणा-या चे भाव, “लेका जातोच आहेस तर काळजी घे आणि धडधाकट घरी ये” प्रत्येकाचे विचार आणि वागणही पस्पेक्टिव्ह. सोसायटी मधले अशा जोखमीच्या कामावर जाणा-या रहिवाश्यांपासून चार नव्हे दहा हात दूर. अरे रे, काय ही तुझी अवस्था, सोसायटी मधले कामावरून परतणा-या व्यक्तीला विचारतात .”सार ठिक ठाक आहे ना? काळजी घ्या बरं पाटील, नाही परवा तो शिवशाही सोसायटी मधला ,कामावरून आला आणि आजारी पडला तो———“
ते ऐकूनच पाटलाच काळीज धडधडल, खरं तर त्यांच्या कामाचं स्वरूप वेगळंच, कोणाशीही संबंध नाही पण —— असो ,
“मन चिंती ते वैरी न चिंती.”
अशा गंमती जमती रोजच घडतात.
सस्पेन्स तरी किती बाळगायचा जे विधी लिखीत आहे तेथोडच चुकल्या येणार !
तेव्हा या करोनाला घाबरण्या पेक्षा आपल्या सवयी बदला.
स्वच्छतेचे नियम पाळा.घरात प्रवेश करतांना स्वत: हात धुवूनच आत या.वेळोवेळी गरम पाणी प्या. शक्य तो तेलकट खाणे टाळा.सतत त्याच त्या बातम्या, चर्चा पाहणे टाळा. काही विधायक करा. नवीन शिका, पुस्तक वाचा. घरातच जमेल असा छंद शिका , आनंदी रहा.आणि स्वत:ला बजावा हे ही दिवस जातील.
करोनाने तुमच्या कुटूंबाला एकत्र आणलय त्याचा सकारात्मक फायदा घ्या. भविष्याच नियोजन, थोडा आराम करा.आपल्या नेहमीच्या सवयीत बदल करण्यासाठीच हा करोना आला असावा. त्याला निरोप देण्याची वेळ लवकरच येईल त्यासाठी आपण सर्वांनी नियमांचे पालन करू म्हणजे त्यालाही कळेल त्याच इथलं इतीकर्तव्य संपले आता जायला हरकत नाही. शुभास्ते पंथानः
